Here at 3v we believe in the use of high quality materials and manufacturing processes for all the products we provide.  Over the years our signature products have been finished in brushed satin stainless steel which ensures durability and resistance to corrosion and staining creating a beautiful finish for any design scheme.

Looking for something different?

Although satin stainless steel may still be the ideal solution for many projects, increasingly our clients have been asking for something a bit different or unique. By using our high quality base material of stainless steel we can now apply a number of different finishing processes that expands the range of finishes that we can now offer.  If you are thinking of using one of our special finishes or perhaps you are trying to match something else on the project please call or email so we can advise you in more detail.

See below some of the standard processes we use.

Electroplating

Electroplating is used to deposit a layer of material onto the base finish to create a completely different colour and texture. We can provide beautiful metallic finishes including a number of different bronze and brass shades or even copper all of which are applied to our standard stainless steel products.  Every item selected can therefore be properly finished matched includeing hinges, door closers and toilet fittings.

PVD

Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) is an vacuum process and an alternative to electroplating that provides a high quality and very durable decorative finish. This coating is used to tint the ironmongery to a vast number of shades while still being able to see the fine brushed texture from the stainless steel base material.  As with electroplating, most products can be co-ordinated to match but due to the nature of the process larger items may not be able to be catered for.

Powder coating

Powder coating is a process where dry powder is applied to an object using an electrostatic gun and heated to 200 °C to creates a even coloured paint finish. Powder coating can help you to enhance the visibility of ironmongery to suite your projects environment, provide us with a RAL or Dulux reference and we can colour match for you.

Alongside our standard power coatings we can also provide Anti Microbial Powder Coatings, particularly suitable for healthcare projects, which kills most species of bacteria, including the deadly MRSA, salmonella, E coli and C difficile.
